The Regime Uses Women and Children to Defend Him

2014-04-26

The regime in Syria opened the door for women to volunteer in what called People's Committees, in an attempt to cover the lack of numerical he suffers from . The centers of People's Committees witnessed average turnout by women mostly Alawite and few Sunni, Druze and other sects.
The registration for women to volunteer happens through AlBaath Party centers (the ruling party in Syria) for a salary of 30000 S.P = 176.5 $ a month. After confirming they are over 18 years old the women who volunteered are subjected to a short training camp in Al-Baath Camp in Al-Dreig in the suburbs of Damascus.
Those training camps are divided into two divisions:
The first one, extends for a week during which they are trained for dealing with the weapons (disassembling, composing and cleaning). The second one, extends for one month where the volunteers are trained on self-defense, in addition to lectures about the ideas of the ruling party and faith in Bashar Al-Assad and the Syrian army. In order to brainwash the volunteers and send them to die for Al-Assad.
After finishing the training camp, the volunteers are sorted to the National Defense Army into three sections:
-The first section goes to the checkpoints in city centers and quiet areas. Women serving in five checkpoints in Damascus were reported.
-The second section are sorted as intelligence agents in the streets to eavesdrop on civilians.
-The third section which is the least of numbers goes to the battle fronts against the rebels.
Many pro-Assad and National Defense Army pages published photos of women fighters on the front lines in Lattakia and other places in Syria.
Abu Arab an activist in media field told SYRCU site during an interview that the regime is organizing training camps in Al-Baath Party camps in Al-Dreig on monthly bases for women volunteers. "The regime is bringing them from different provinces of Syria, where the number of trainees is around 1000 trainees in each camp". Abu Arab also referred that the women volunteers are subjected to a military system not different from the system applied on men who has compulsory service in terms of food and living conditions.
The regime takes photos for girls in Hijab
During training in volunteers camps in National Defense Army, Syrian regime is also intentionally taking photos of girls in Hijab and publish them regularly on pro-Assad pages on Facebook.
In Abu Arab's activist point of view the regime is publishing It was noticed that the regime is also recruiting children in Syria and that was uncovered by a report published clarifying that the Iraqi pro-Assad brigade Abul Fadl Al-Abbas and Hizbullah Militia are working on recruiting children under the age of 15 and give them military training where they also give sectarian lectures to abet them intellectually in Shiite mosques in Sayeda Zainab neighborhood in Damascus.
Previous reports indicated that the regime is using children under 18 on checkpoints in Damascus. Observers believe that the regime is doing this because of the lack of numerical they are suffering as a result of the great losses against the rebels in different places in Syria.
